It’s high time that cats get the attention they deserve.
While Petworth and the rest of DC has plenty of dog-centric things to do, there isn’t much celebrating our feline friends. The Petworth Pretty Kitties Cat Crawl wants to change that.

About
The Petworth Pretty Kitties Cat Crawl’s goal is to highlight our cat friends with a guided walking tour to see and celebrate the neighborhood cats.
Inspired by the Wedge Cat Tour in Minneapolis, cat owners can sign up to be included as a stop on the tour. Cat lovers can join in on a guided tour to different stops in the Petworth neighborhood to see and learn about each cat.
It will occur on May 2, 2026 with a rain date of May 3, 2026.

The cat crawl is being led by Valerie of Not Bored in DC, who has lived in Petworth for the last 14 years.

In loving memory of Dink (1999-2019), who would have hated this.

FAQs
Are cats welcome?
Yes! If your cat enjoys going on adventures and are okay in crowds, please bring your (leashed or otherwise contained) cats, they’ll get lots of oohs and ahhhs.
Are dogs welcome?
No. This is for cats. While your dog might love cats, the cats don’t know that, and we want to make the cats as comfortable as possible. Please leave your dogs at home.
Are there bathrooms available?
No, this is a walking tour on the streets, and there are no public restrooms available. Also note that the Petworth Library is closed for renovations so there really aren’t public restrooms.
Show Off Your Cats

If you are within the guided cat crawl area or the bonus cats area and want home to have people adore your cats, please fill out this form. Depending on capacity, you may be included on the bonus cat map, even if you are in the guided tour area.
You can show off your cat from inside a window or bring it outside on a leash, carrier, or other enclosure to meet its adoring fans.
While we received an outpouring of interest from Petworth cat families, to make this manageable and set expectations for viewers and cats, we did need to narrow down the area.
